My
name is .... With this letter, I would like to apply as a graduate student for
the Mundus Programme and the Mundus Scholarship.
I
have got a degree of Bachelor of Science in October 2005 from the University of Natural Sciences and my study focuses
mainly on the basic and advanced knowledge of biotechnology, especially on the
agricultural biotechnology. I am particularly interested in research related to
plant biotechnology and the micropropagation of floral plants.
Therefore,
I have endeavored to upgrade my education in the field of plant biotechnology
by approaching some novel methods and protocols for plant propagation when
taking part in some researches at Da Lat Institute of Biology. During this
time, I have got some encouraged achievements: co-publish 5 scientific papers
and 1 poster presentation, receive the Odon Vallet scholarship for researching
student, acquire advanced and practical knowledge on the plants cell, tissue
and organ culture. When working at Da Lat Institute of Biology, I was
considered as a courteous and studious student, a light-hearted friend and
an enthusiasm co-worker.
In
addition to my academic activities, I also have a chance to take part in many
social volunteer activities which give me experiences in working individually
or in team, working with foreigners, adapting to a constantly changing work
environment and maintaining good working relationships with individuals of
different cultural backgrounds. I have also experienced a task of an organiser
and an emcee for an international conference. Good organizing and managing
skills, good command of understanding and using English and French, and writing
scientific paper skill are also my strong characteristics.
Through
work in the plant and agricultural biotechnolgy, I came to recognize that my
knowledge is still limited in many areas. Thus, I would like to have the
opportunity to enroll in the master courses of the Mundus Programme to put my
knowledge into a higher standard. Your top-level programme will provide me
plenty of knowledge in the field of agricultural development and horticultural
crop management. In addition, working and attending this master course, I will
have opportunities to meet people from various nations and cultures, offering
me different points of view and contributing to my flexibility and creativity,
besides the cultural and language gains.
Moreover,
I have come to recognize that a deep and solid education provided by your
programme is needed for me to pursue my career in agricultural area and to have
a critical understanding of the problems that my country is facing and their
solutions. Therefore, if I successfully graduate from the Mundus Programme and
make practical use of what I have learned, I will play an active role in achievements
of the agricuture in my country through my future research practice. The
knowledge, skills and experiences that I benefit from the Agri Mundus Programme
will contribute not only to my future carrier but also to the development of my
country.
I hope
that I will be accepted as an an applicant of the Agri Mundus Programme and a
beneficiary of the Mundus Scholarship in the 2009–2011 academic years. I
understand that admission to the Mundus Scholarship and Mundus Programme is
competitive, but I am also confident that I am qualified and eager, and
prepared to meet all of its challenges. I would be most grateful if you
